About Me

" I love bringing to life the beauty of God's creation through photography and stained glass. Capturing the elegance and intricacy of nature in my work and presenting those to the viewer is like giving a gift of great value that we both can treasure. It is when all the elements of timing, light, observation, patience, knowledge, skill, and hard work come together perfectly that such a treasure is created."

My bachelors degree from Purdue University is in Fine Arts and French. I subsequently spent 25 years in the corporate world, and earned a Masters of Business Administration from Indiana University. I now live and work in Brown County, Indiana and in Venice and LaBelle, Florida-all perfect venues for the best that nature has to offer.

I use a Canon 7 D, along with an ever-increasing array of lenses, tripods, lighting devices, and other "necessities" of the digital photography world (quite different from those used in the early 1970's when I began working in the medium).

The final presentation of an image is as important to me as capturing it through the lens. Different images demand different treatment. Some plead for canvas and mimic an impressionist painting. Others beg to be immersed in a pool of colored or mirrored glass which reflects and enhances its beauty. I personally select the "environs" for each, and do all the matting and framing myself.

I use only archival and acid-free products to preserve the complete work of art. My photographs are fine art 'giclee" prints, made to last for many years with reasonable care.

My stained glass is in the traditional copper foil technique, which I first learned in 1989. I often include calligraphy and glass etching as design elements in the finished piece. My work is primarily Christian-inspired, and ten percent of each sale is donated to Christian causes.

The LightSong Photography/Godly Glass Studio is located in the woods of northern Brown County, and is open by appointment, April through October.
